The history
It was in 2018 that Kanye West unveiled the first edition of the ‘Yeezy slipper’. This happened while Kanye was wearing the slides to a wedding. Ye responded to the criticism by saying that this was the ‘Japanese way’ of wearing the slippers and that your foot should hang over the back of the slipper by one to two centimetres.
The Yeezy ‘Graphite’ slipper was part of Yeezy Season 6. The first model was not yet in collaboration with adidas. This only happened a year later with the release of the adidas x Yeezy slide.

In 2019, a year after the release of the Yeezy ‘Slipper’, adidas and Yeezy joined forces for the release of the ‘Yeezy slide’. The first collection consisted of three pairs coloured ‘Desert Sand’, ‘Bone’ and ‘Resin’. The model consists of a thick ‘EVA Foam’ material, which makes the slide durable and lightweight. The Yeezy slides take on a minimal look as the design is one piece.
