There are no hard-and-fast rules about what women can or should wear for yoga practice. However, there are some guidelines that can help ensure your comfort during class:
Wear loose-fitting clothing that allows free movement throughout class. Avoid tight pants or shorts that restrict movement in poses such as Warrior II and Triangle Pose. Loose tops like tank tops or t-shirts are fine as long as they cover your bottom so that people can see your alignment from behind when standing in Mountain Pose (Tadasana).
Avoid wearing anything with buttons, zippers or ties because these items could get caught up in your mat during class. If it doesn’t come off easily, don’t wear it!

A pair of socks or bare feet — this depends on whether the studio has carpeted floors or not. If they do have carpeted floors, then I would suggest wearing socks so that you don’t slip during class! If they have hardwood or tile floors then go barefoot!
