On Rodeo Drive, from Wilshire Boulevard to South Santa Monica Boulevard, walk among some of the world’s well-known fashion icons on the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style®, everyone from Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani and Herb Ritts, to Salvatore Ferragamo, Gianni and Donatella Versace and Mario Testino. First introduced in 2003 by the City of Beverly Hills and the Rodeo Drive Committee, Walk of Style honors fashion legends for their contributions to the fashion and entertainment industries. Recipients are selected by an independent group of representatives from media, entertainment and fashion, and are honored with a permanent plaque featuring a personal quote and their own signature. These plaques are then embedded into the sidewalk of Rodeo Drive as a lasting tribute to each honoree.

Situated on Rodeo Drive between Dayton Way and Brighton Way, visitors will find an architectural masterpiece, Anderton Court, by Frank Lloyd Wright, who played a key role in the architectural movements of the twentieth century and was recognized by the American Institute of Architects as “the greatest American architect of all time.” The three-story building houses six boutiques and is famous for its unique design which is completely devoid of steps and instead relies on a series of ramps to move between floors. Constructed in 1952, it was the iconic architect’s final structure in Los Angeles County, making it an unofficial monument to the pioneering architect.

Rodeo Drive’s unrivaled shopping options have solidified its status as one of the most prestigious retail destinations in not just California but also the entire world. With more than 100 boutiques offering the finest in fashion, apparel, handbags, shoes, home accessories and jewelry, Rodeo Drive’s stores rival those in the planet’s most famous shopping districts, from those in Milan, London and Paris, to those in London, New York and Tokyo. Not to miss is a step inside the flagship stores on Rodeo Drive from brands such as Chanel, Hermes, Cartier, Louis Vuitton and Harry Winston, which carry their full collections, including items exclusive to the Rodeo Drive stores. These flagships are some of the biggest in terms of their square footage compared to other boutiques in not only the West Coast but also the entire country.

Another treasure that can be found on Rodeo Drive is a collaboration between a fashion designer and an automotive brand. House of Bijan’s Bijan Pakzad’s custom Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe is one of the most popular attractions on Rodeo Drive, with hundreds of tourists snapping photos daily. This gleaming yellow Rolls-Royce has become a permanent fixture along the street, earning itself a matching yellow parking meter and sidewalk plaques featuring the brand’s logos beside its Rodeo Drive parking spot. Operating on an appointment-only basis, House of Bijan is one of Rodeo Drive’s most exclusive men’s store catering to everyone from royal families, celebrities and professional athletes, to dignitaries and even five U.S. presidents – George H. W. Bush and his son, Barack Obama, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton.

You need to be able to trust your gear and know that it will be able to stand up to whatever challenges come your way. And you want to look good while doing it!
You might think that just being dressed in layers is enough—but what if there’s wind? Or rain? What if you want to stay warm but also look stylish? That’s where we come in!
Dress onboard Rocky Mountaineer is smart casual. We suggest that guests wear comfortable, cool layers as the dome coaches have expansive windows. Please bring onboard a light jacket or sweater as the air conditioning may feel just right for some, but a bit chilly for others.

Rockies to the Red Rocks
On our Rockies to the Red Rocks route, we travel between desert landscapes and the Colorado Rocky Mountains at an elevation of up to 1,750 m / 5,741 ft. Moab, in particular can reach up to 38°C / 100 °F in the summer, while in the Colorado Rocky Mountains weather can change dramatically in a short period of time
With this in mind, we’ve put together a recommended packing list to help you prepare for your American Southwest adventure.

What to wear onboard the train
Dress onboard Rocky Mountaineer is casual. Here are some recommendations on what you may want to wear onboard the train:
Comfortable, cool layers as there are expansive windows
A light jacket or sweater as the air conditioning may feel just right for some, but chilly for others
Flat-soled shoes with grip to help keep you steady with the natural movement of the train
A hat and sunglasses for sunny days
We recommend that you bring a day pack or bag which is small enough to fit at your feet onboard the train as there is no overhead or under seat storage, and you will not have access to your checked luggage. The space for your day pack or bag is approximately 16” x 11” x 8” in GoldLeaf Service, and 23” x 8” x 8” in SilverLeaf Service.
