Sleeveless Dress With Collar

It was an absolutely gorgeous dress. I just couldn’t decide if it should be a wedding gown or bridesmaid dress. The designer had made it in both colors. It was perfect though, because my sister’s wedding wasn’t until August, but the bridesmaid dress wouldn’t be available until March. They were both stunning and the price was right! We decided to order both!

Sleeveless Dress With Collar

Statement sleeves were a major trend last year, and we are glad to report that they are staying for 2020! If you are starting to gather inspiration for your Spring wardrobe, a dress with statement sleeves is a not-to-be-missed item. There are so many different types of statement sleeves, like bell sleeves, ruffled sleeves, and off shoulder sleeves, just to name a few. You can really make the “statement” as big or as small as you want to. Check out a few of our favourite patterns below (including quite a few brand new designs) and we cannot wait to see what you will make with these!

Please don’t forget to share your latest makes with us on social media using the hashtags #simplicitybyme or #mccallsbyme.

This beautiful asymmetric dress features the cutest balloon sleeves! The pleats at the top add extra volume around the shoulders and you can choose from above-elbow or full-length sleeves with narrow band cuffs. Add a tie, a sash or a button closure at the front and you also have the option add ruffles along the hem.

This gorgeous dress has a high-waist front-wrap bodice and it’s bang on trend! The sleeves are big and voluminous, just the way we like it. Choose from long sleeves with elasticated cuffs, or short sleeves with a cute tulip detail. Add a waist peplum or hem frill for extra cuteness.

This dreamy dress features the most beautiful details! The tie-cuff detail is to die for, but you also have 2 other sleeve styles to choose from. Furthermore you can choose between 2 different lengths, a V or a round neckline and different belt variations. Also, aren’t those big patch pockets amazing?

Pattern: McCall’s 8033, #SophiaMcCalls.

This dress features subtle statement sleeves and it’s swoon worthy… The sleeves have just the right amount of gathers at the top and bottom, and the elasticised hems finishes them off beautifully. Choose from long or short sleeves, and a knee and maxi length skirt.

Pattern: McCall’s 8034, #CoraMcCalls.

Wow! These sleeves are taking this fabulous dress to a whole other level. Choose from shoulder straps or two different full sleeve variations, and we absolutely love the elasticated gathers at the neckline and shoulder. The dress is fitted with boning, front and back seams and a zip fastening.

Pattern: McCall’s 8032, #BlytheMcCalls.

These puffed sleeves with cute little frills equals perfection! This dress is chic and playful and we love it. The fitted bodice has darts, a back zip fastening and a waist seam. Go for the optional frill on the flared skirt and neckline to add even more cute details.

It’s not all about puffyness, frills and gathers. This dress from Vogue is just as stylish! The oversized flounce that goes from the front to the back and covers your arms (almost like short sleeves) definitely steels the show!
